The Place
Nestled within olive and almond groves in the foothills of the Sierra de Lujar, Cortijo Vacas Gordas has a special atmosphere of peace and tranquility which is conducive to retreats or courses.
The lovingly restored mill (molino) and winery (bodega) provide the principal area for group work, socialising and accommodation, while the the pool terrace area is available for relaxation, with swimming pool, hot tub and sunbathing decks. The farmhouse is surrounded by gardens, terraces and secluded spaces overlooking unspoilt landscape.
Accommodation is limited to 12 people, providing a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. There are a total of six double bedrooms (four with en suite facilities, two sharing a toilet and shower). Singles are available for a supplementary charge.
Delicious healthy food is freshly prepared for each meal using locally sourced ingredients. We cater for all tastes and dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, fish or meat). Most groups choose to have a substantial brunch (leftovers available to snack on during the day), followed by a three course delicious dinner (under the stars when possible) with all drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) included. There is also a well stocked kitchen for the use of guests.
