Things To Do

Once you are here, you can choose what you want to do. Vacas Gordas is the ideal place to just sit back and relax and recharge your batteries, or you may wish to get involved in one or more of the many activities available locally or at Vacas Gordas. You may choose to explore the surrounding area to get a feel for Andalucia, or visit the nearby bars and beaches (some of which are for naturists). You can releax in the hot tub to rest those aching muscles or just enjoy the warmth under the stars.

Skiing - the Sol y Nieve ski resort in the Sierra Nevada is 2 hours away. It has practically guaranteed sunshine and some of the best snow conditions in Europe. Open November to May with mountain biking and walking popular at other times of the year
Golf - There are golf courses at Salobrena 15kms. Almerimar 40kms
Nerja 50kms.

Excursions (transport can be arranged if necessary)

Take a trip to the cultural city of Granada (one hour's drive) and experience the magnificent Alhambra palace
Visit the beautiful white villages of Las Alpujarras (one hour's drive).
See the snow-capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada, where you can ski in winter months
Experience the Spanish fiestas such as the Fiesta de Jamon y Agua in the mountain village of Lanjaron (take a change of clothes with you) or the Fiesta de San Juan on the coast with bonfires, barbecues and a communal midnight swim to celebrate life and the sea.
Visit the Aqua Tropic water park in Almuņecar (June-Sept).
